TIMAWA at THE BUZZ

TIMAWA, one of my long time unfulfilled projects is finally going to be published on the pages of THE BUZZ MAGASIN, 2 full color pages a month beginning on the OCTOBER 2007 Cover date issue, which will become available on September 15, 2007 in Manila, September 20 in the provinces, and much later in Filipino communities abroad.

Since BUZZ Magasin is a mass market publication, Timawa will be written in Tagalog, which is most appropriate for it considering the type of story it is, the setting it happens in.

If the Panel 1 seems familiar, it is basically the same scene depicted in a 1995 illustration of Timawa which can be found here:

I had wanted to use that illustration for this one, but having recently visited the LRT Station in Blumentritt where this scene was taken and saw that a lot of things have changed, I knew I just had to draw it again.
